About the assignment
You join a leading organisation in the financial sector where identity and access management is critical to security and compliance. Your role bridges system security, API development, and business analysis—three domains that rarely align perfectly, but you make them work.
You'll architect and implement advanced IAM solutions that protect user identities, enforce least-privilege access, and scale securely. This is hands-on engineering work with strategic impact: your designs directly influence how the organisation controls who accesses what, when, and how.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced IAM architectures (RBAC, ABAC, JML workflows) aligned with security and business needs
- Manage identity lifecycle processes: provisioning, access reviews, deprovisioning across multiple systems
- Configure and optimise IAM platforms to meet compliance requirements (ISO 27001, regulatory frameworks)
- Collaborate with API teams to integrate IAM controls into application authentication and authorisation flows
- Conduct access reviews and recommend privilege improvements based on security risk assessment
- Troubleshoot IAM system issues, analyse root causes, and implement sustainable solutions
- Document IAM processes, configurations, and security controls for audit and knowledge transfer
- Mentor junior team members on IAM best practices and hands-on platform management

Must-haves
- 7+ years IAM engineering experience with hands-on platform management (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, or ForgeRock)
- Deep knowledge of identity lifecycle management, access controls (RBAC/ABAC), and JML workflows
- Experience designing and implementing IAM solutions for regulated industries (financial services preferred)
- Strong understanding of API security and integration of IAM with application authentication/authorisation
- Proven ability to manage complex access reviews, compliance audits, and privilege assessments
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with multiple IAM platforms (vendor diversity strengthens architecture decisions)
- Knowledge of CISSP or CISM frameworks and certification
- Background in zero-trust architecture or advanced access control models
