Team Manager Identity & Access Management
About the assignment
A major organisation is strengthening its identity and access management function. You build and lead a dedicated IAM team, setting technical direction and driving delivery on critical access governance projects.
You report to the security leadership, manage team performance, and ensure IAM controls align with enterprise compliance requirements. Your impact spans identity lifecycle management, privileged access, and governance frameworks across complex multi-cloud environments.
Your responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of IAM engineers and architects
- Define IAM strategy, roadmap, and architecture for identity lifecycle and access governance
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID)
- Manage stakeholder relationships with business units, infrastructure, and compliance teams
- Drive adoption of RBAC/ABAC frameworks and enforce least-privilege access principles
- Monitor team performance, conduct 1-on-1s, and support professional development
- Own budget, vendor relationships, and technical decisions for IAM tooling and upgrades
- Report on IAM metrics, access reviews, and compliance status to security leadership

Must-haves
- 7+ years IAM experience including 3+ years in a team lead or management role
- Deep expertise with enterprise IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, or similar)
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop technical teams
- Strong understanding of identity lifecycle, access governance, and compliance frameworks
- Experience leading vendor relationships and technical roadmap decisions
Nice-to-haves
- Background in PAM (Privileged Access Management) implementation
- Experience with multi-cloud IAM architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- CISSP or CISM certification
