Business Continuity & Crisis Management Advisor
About the assignment
A major organisation is strengthening its business continuity and crisis management capabilities. You'll build comprehensive BC/DR strategies, establish crisis governance frameworks, and ensure the organisation can respond effectively to disruptions.
This role bridges operational resilience, risk management, and stakeholder coordination. You'll work with critical business units to identify dependencies, design recovery plans, and test readiness through regular exercises and simulations.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans aligned with organisational risk profile
- Conduct business impact analyses (BIA) across departments to identify critical functions and recovery time objectives
- Design crisis management frameworks, escalation procedures, and communication protocols for incident response
- Coordinate business continuity testing, tabletop exercises, and full-scale simulations to validate plan effectiveness
- Monitor regulatory requirements (NIS2, DORA, sector-specific rules) and ensure compliance in BC/crisis governance
- Partner with IT, security, and operational teams to integrate technical and non-technical resilience measures
- Report to senior management and board-level committees on resilience posture and readiness metrics

Must-haves
- 7+ years in business continuity, crisis management, or operational resilience roles
- Proven expertise developing BCP/DRP frameworks and conducting business impact analyses
- Strong knowledge of NIS2, DORA, and relevant regulatory requirements for critical infrastructure
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and executive audiences
- Experience designing and executing BC testing, tabletop exercises, and crisis simulations
Nice-to-haves
- Certification: CBCI, CISM, or CRISC
- Experience with business continuity platforms (Everbridge, Deloitte tools, or equivalent)
- Background in incident response, security, or risk management complementing BC expertise
